Making Movies

Transition Year have been set their end of year assignment for I.T. class. They have to record, produce, and publish a video of between 1 - 3 minutes long. The use of software and topic can be their own choice.

There was some excitement when the assignment was given, and some great ideas were discussed. There was talk of doing Forrest Gump in one minute, a Wolstan's Crib in an MTV Cribs style, a profile of our winning Camogie Team, a video on the upcoming Gaisce hike, and some will even make short videos for our Music Rooms collaborative project with St Scholastica's College in Sydney, Australia.

To help I have created a YouTube Playlist for using Windows Live Movie Maker which is the programme on the computers at school. If students wish to use any other programme they are free to do so.

Here is the first video in the Playlist.

I also found another site with lots of very useful Windows Live tutorials called Mahalo.com.

Good luck TY, I am looking forward to your movies.
Mrs L :)
