Formula 1 In Schools

Stephanie blogged over the weekend about F1 .....

F1 in schools is a competition where students in each technology class have to get themselves into groups and we have to manufacture compressed air-powered racing cars.
Student teams will compete against each other in a National Championship to determine the best-engineered and fastest car in Ireland.
My team consists of 6 people, Me, Lauren, Grace, Chloe, Aoife and Niamh. We were all given specific tasks to do such as manufacturing engineer. Our team name is Turbo Speed.
Here is a link to the F1 in Schools site.

Good luck to Team Turbo Speed!

Team Bladhm successful in F1 competition

Team Bladhm successfully went through to the National F1 for Schools competition today.

Team Swift put up a great show as well but unfortunately didn't make it. Well done to both teams.

Team Bladhm will be gearing up for the National final on 29th April at Griffith College Dublin.

Big shout out to Mr Guinan for all his help. First year in this competition and through to finals, wohoo!

Team Bladhm

Team Bladhm is our TY technology group consisting of six members,

Aisling Lee, Team Manager
Caroline Kelly, Resource Manager
Alex O'Neill, Design Engineer
Nicolle McDonagh, Media Manager
Sinead McCabe, Graphics Designer
Emily Murphy, Manufacturing Manager

We recently got into the regional finals of F1 in Schools technology competition.

Our team’s name is Bladhm. Bladhm is the irish word for flame. We chose this name because it's an original name with an irish twist. We chose Bladhm because we felt it was the best name by far and all the team agreed on it.

Our team, Bladhm, has decided to design and make a type R formula one race car, and designing has already started, although manufacturing is some time away.

We hope to get some local sponsors, to help with the costs. We're looking for around €200 to cover the design costs, aswell as the team outfits.

Thats our update so far :)

Team Bladhm

We are a group of girls who came together based on our talents in relation to the task set for us: to compete in the F1 in schools competition.

We had to come up with a design for a model car which will be propelled by a co2 cannister. So far we are through to the regional finals and hopefully we will go to national finals and possibly the world final of F1.

The team consists of 6 TY girls

Team Manager: Aisling Lee
Resource manager: Caroline Kelly
Design Engineer: Alex O'Neill
Markrting Manager: Nicolle Mc Donagh
Graphics Designer: Sinead Mc Cabe
